Year 6 Kingswood Trip 2021
Kingswood Residential – Action Adventure
Overstrand Hall, Norfolk
Monday 14th June, 2021 to Friday 18th June, 2021
We have decided to book our Year 6 residential week at Kingswood Overstrand Hall for 2021 with a very close eye on the current COVID-19 situation. Obviously if levels of infection remain as they are, we will not go ahead. However we remain hopeful and have restructured all payment schedules to allow families to commit to the trip with as little financial impact as possible if it doesn’t go ahead.
For many years we have organised for our Year 6 pupils to spend a week away together at a residential centre. We have chosen Kingswood Centres in different parts of the country as the base for this. The reason for this is that they meet our fundamental requirements:
- They are competitively priced for what they offer
- They are, in our considerable experience, very safe, with good quality instruction.
- They offer a range of physical pursuits, which are accessible to and enjoyable for all our children.
- The accommodation and food are of a high standard.
Each year we see massive benefits of this for all pupils, in terms of increased self- confidence and independence. Added to that, they all have a really great time. This is not simply a residential week for the outdoor and physical. Some of our great successes on Kingswood weeks have been children who may previously have been thought of as quiet and shy.
Supervision is 24 hours a day by our own staff as well as by Kingswood staff leading the instruction for activities. We always send senior members of our staff as well as a mix of other male and female teachers.
We intend to visit the Overstrand Hall centre in Norfolk in 2021 with our Year 6 children. We have secured a provisional booking for 55 pupils from Monday 14th June, 2021 to Friday 18th June, 2021. This is, of course, dependent on how the current COVID-19 situation progresses and we will keep a very close eye on this.
You will find details of payment schedules and dates below.
Clearly the cost of the week is considerable. We recognise that meeting the cost can be extremely difficult for many families. If the cost is a major issue in your decision to give permission for your child’s participation, please talk to us. There are ways in which we can help and support you, including arranging payments over longer terms or accessing funding to subsidise costs.
We will need to commit the school to a set number of places by the 20th October. A place cannot be reserved and guaranteed for your child until the first deposit of £40 has been received. This deposit will need to be with us not later than the morning of Monday 19th October. If this is a problem you please come and have a chat – we can always find a solution. If no contact or communication is made, and no contribution received, then unfortunately no place will be reserved.
Normally we would hold a parent information meeting in early October, however due to COVID-19 restrictions this is not going to be possible. We have, instead, sent you the presentation via email and you can also download everything from your website HERE. You might also wish to visit www.kingswood.co.uk to find out more.
All payments will be administered via Wisepay.
