June and July Plans
Latest update on school following retention of restrictions
As we head towards the end of the summer term school continues to be a busy and really lovely place to be. The recent wonderful weather has seen our outdoor areas being further developed and used very well; we hope that we will be able to continue to do this right up until 21st July when we break up.
Unfortunately the continuation of certain COVID-19 restrictions mean that some of our plans for the end of term have had to change. Most importantly the very clear guidance we have from the Department for Education on maintaining bubbles and restricting the numbers of adults on site mean that we will not be able to hold Sports day as initially planned. This is frustrating for all of us, but we hope that the Tokyo Trail events that we have planned for the children will allow us to celebrate sporting achievement in a different way.
It has been very positive for teaching staff to be able to meet lots of parents and carers on a daily basis at the front of school and keep you up to date with children. We are aware of the need for a more formal feedback and, with this in mind, our staff are currently preparing the second written report for all children. These will be with you in the week beginning 12th July.
We will continue with as many of our summer events as we can, but we must say that we are really missing the very busy time that we normally have including our Y6 Leavers' Service in the Church, Sports Day, Transition Days to secondary schools and our annual PTA Summer Fayre - hopefully next year will be different!
