It's Half Term! Here's the Junior News!
Latest News from Nettleham C of E Junior School
It is absolutely amazing to think that we are coming to the end of our first half term!
We remain overwhelmed by the positivity of every child in school. It is a very ‘interesting’ time in school: it is hard, it is strange, it is uplifting, it is joyful, it is school…but not quite as we knew it.
We are moving step by step and not changing too much in terms of the measures that were put in place in September. Indeed, given that the infection rates are higher now than then, it would be unwise to relax anything that we are currently doing.
With this in mind the current staggered arrival and departure times will stay in place. Thank you so much for your cooperation with this – it is in fact really positive to be able to talk to families outside school without the normal congestion there.
We will not be providing hot meals until January 2021 at the earliest. Free school meals will, of course, continue to be provided in the form of a cold box. You can also purchase cold boxes to be delivered to school each day – all of this can be done on the Wisepay platform (which is now fully secure and up and running again).
Formal parents’ evenings with meetings with teachers on school site will not be taking place. At the end of half term we will be sending you a short report on how your child has settled into school including great achievements and areas to develop next. We will offer the opportunity to follow this up with a telephone conversation if you would like one.
Children’s flu vaccines have been brought forward and will now take place in school on 6th November.
School, as already notified, is shut for staff training and a full risk assessment review on 22nd October 2020. We wish you all a wonderful half term break – find some space and find time to rest and we look forward to seeing the children back in school with us on Monday 2nd November.
